TORQUAY, Nov 22 (SW) – Torquay United chairman Chris Roberts issued a statement in which he has threatened to take disciplinary action against any of his players who dive or go down feigning injury.
Roberts also believes that his club will be the first one to have taken such a stand.
Players guilty of their first offences will be warned. For a second offence a player will be fined while for a third offence a player will either be sacked or placed on the transfer list.
He added that the World Cup this year did very little to enhance the sport’s reputation.
The use of video technology will be used to prove cases, said Roberts.
