LONDON, Nov 21 (SW) – The debate over the use of television and video technology by referees has been very much in the spotlight lately.
Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has thrown his support fully behind the use of technology whereby television replays would be used to decide contentious decisions.
This comes in the aftermath of Mark Hughes, manager of Blackburn Rovers and Adrian Boothroyd, manager of Watford both calling for the introduction of technology after a number of controversial incidents that affected their teams at the weekend.
Wenger accused the authorities of failing to move with the times and said that all that managers, players and spectators wanted was the correct decisions being made.
He added that he couldn’t understand why referees were reluctant to have it implemented.
