LONDON, Nov 21 (SW) – The successful bidder in the West Ham United takeover bid, Eggert Magnusson, said that the club could move into the London Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Olympic Games.

Iceland’s FA President Magnusson was successful in his takeover bid and bought the club for £85 million.

In a statement after the success of his bid, Magnusson also came out in support of manager Alan Pardew and said that he wanted to see the manager continue with the nurturing of local talent for the club.

Currently Upton Park has a capacity of around 35 000 while the plans for London’s Olympic Stadium should be in the region of 80 000.

Talks are already under way for the possible take over of the stadium after the Olympics.

West Ham now becomes the sixth Premier League club to have been taken over by foreign investors.
