LONDON/MOSCOW, Nov 21 (SW) - Arsenal and Porto are in prime position to qualify out of Champions League Group G after claiming victories over Hamburg and CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.

Arsenal - Hamburg 3-1
The English side were stunned early on as the Germans, eliminated already from the competition, struck in the fourth minute when Rafael van der Vaart hit a blistering shot.

But the Gunners were always the better team but lacked luck once again, the same luck that eluded them in Matchday 4 against CSKA Moscow.

But Robin van Persie broke Arsenal's bad run of luck in the 52nd minute as he tucked home from Cesc Fabregas' wonderful through-ball, and Emmanuel Eboué snatched the deserved winning goal seven minutes from the end with a finely finished shot.

Julio Baptista added a third goal in the 88th minute to ensure Arsenal finished the day atop Group G

CSKA Moscow - Porto 0-2
The Russians had a chance to secure their spot in the next round, but an early strike pegged them back as Ricardo Quaresma tucked home a cross by Lisandro López to stun the Lokomotiv Stadium crowd.

After a long trip from the eastern part of the nation over the weekend, CSKA came out flat and the 2004 European Champions from Portugal always looked the stronger side, squandering chances to extend their lead after the opening goal.

CSKA's inability to created scoring chances hurt them further in the 61st minute when Lisandro put a headed ball into the path of Lucho González who slammed past Igor Akinfeev to make it 2-0.

Porto now need just a point in their final match against Arsenal to clinch a berth in the Round of 16.
