Ferdinand charged with assault

LONDON, Nov 22 (SW) – London police have confirmed that West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand has been charged with assault and for having caused a disturbance.

He was charged earlier today after an incident that took place outside an East London nightclub on the 2nd of October.

The twenty one year old defender is expected to appear in court this Friday.

Ferdinand’s agents have said that his actions were justified and they believe that their player had not done anything wrong.
