LONDON, Nov 19 (SW) – Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended his decision to rest Thierry Henry from yesterday’s clash at The Emirates Stadium against strugglers Newcastle United.
Wenger said that Henry, who had played a full match for France against Greece, was feeling tired and needed more time to rest.
He came off the bench to salvage a draw against the Tynesiders.
During the week Wenger had reportedly had heated words with French national coach Raymond Domenech over the way in which he used Henry.
