(15.11 Milwauk.) Forward Charlie Villanueva sprained his left elbow following a collision with Atlanta's Josh Childress during Tuesday's game against the Hawks. Villanueva, Milwaukee's second-leading scorer with 15 points per game, is listed as day to day.

(15.11 Miami) Shaquille O'Neal missed Tuesday's game against the Denver Nuggets because of a hyperextended left knee, his second injury to the knee this season. He was hurt in a collision with Houston's Chuck Hayesa on Sunday. O'Neal, who has averaged 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in four games, is listed as day to day.

(14.11 Houston) Forward Chuck Hayes is expected to miss up to two weeks with a left knee injury. He bruised and hyperextended his knee in a collision with Shaquille O'Neal during Houston's 94-72 win over Miami on Sunday. Hayes started six of Houston's first seven games and is second on the Rockets with 6.6 rebounds per game.

(13.11 New Orl.) Starting forward David West will miss at least two games with a strained right forearm. He will miss the team's home game in Oklahoma City on Tuesday against the Charlotte Bobcats and Wednesday's game at Detroit. West injured the forearm during the Hornets' loss at Portland on Friday.

(12.11 Boston) The Boston Celtics were without two starters and a key reserve on Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Forward Wally Szczerbiak, averaging 24.2 points, missed the game with a strained lower back, while center Theo Ratliff was inactive because of a bulging disc. Forward Al Jefferson is sidelined after having his appendix removed on Wednesday.

(12.11 Orlando) Forward Grant Hill sat out Saturday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It's part of the Orlando Magic's plan to rest the injury-prone star more this season and he is expected to play on Monday at Boston. Hill is averaging a team-high 16.2 points and 1.67 steals this season.

(12.11 Utah) Forward Andrei Kirilenko left Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks with a sprained right ankle. Details of the injury were not immediately available and it's not yet known how long he'll be sidelined. Kirilenko has averaged 8.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3 assists in 6 games this season.

(11.11 LA Lake.) Center Chris Mihm will undergo surgery Monday to repair a ligament and tendon in his right ankle. He will be sidelined for most of the season.

(11.11 N. Jersey) New Jersey Nets forward Richard Jefferson left Friday night's game against the Miami Heat with a left ankle injury. He missed four of five preseason games with soreness in his left ankle.

(10.11 Miami) Shaquille O'Neal returned to the Heat lineup Friday night against the Nets after missing two games with a bruised left knee.

(9.11 Indiana) Jermaine O'Neal missed Wednesday's 117-91 loss to the Washington Wizards because of a left ankle injury, but the All-Star forward said he expects to return to action Friday at home against Orlando. O'Neal is averaging a team-high 19.5 points, along with 7.0 rebounds.

(9.11 Denver) Kenyon Martin faces an indefinite absence after an MRI revealed loose cartilage that needs to be removed through arthroscopy. "I won't be out the entire season, but I have no idea at this point," the Nuggets forward said about a timetable for his return, adding that he has no idea how or when he hurt his knee. Martin averaged 9.5 points and 10 rebounds in Denver's first two games.

(8.11 Boston) Forward Al Jefferson, 21, had his appendix removed Wednesday and a team spokesman said there was no immediate timetable for his return. Jefferson is averaging 11.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 26.7 minutes in three games for the Boston Celtics this season.

(8.11 Dallas) Mavericks forward Josh Howard faces a two-week absence with a sprained left ankle. He was hurt in a collision with Mickael Pietrus during Monday's 107-104 loss to the Golden State Warriors that dropped the reigning Western Conference champs to 0-3 for the first time since 1993/94. Howard was Dallas' second-leading scorer last season and among the team's best defenders.
